Illuminated manuscript?
An experiment in visual/literary collaboration with my friend, Joel Schapira, in which I used torn fragments of poems as my primary mark, responding to a collaged surface of words, wax, and “stuff” that Joel initiated.
This piece is a tiny part of a grand and interesting collaborative show at the Re Institute in Millerton, NY, featuring Joel, Leonard Ragouzeos, Eve Biddle, and Bowie Zunino, with a number of others. The show is called Impermanent Record: True Stories and is up until June 25, 2011.
The airplane shape emerged from a theme in the main collaborative event.
